Thank you for supporting Sarah in her run for a seat on the Court of Common Pleas. She has won a seat and will be joining the bench January 2024. We would not have been able to accomplish this without your contributions, time, and enthusiasm.
Sarah’s greatest pride has been her work as a public defender in Pennsylvania over the last 15 years. She is currently employed at the Chester County Public Defender’s Office and was recently nominated for a statewide award for outstanding work. She protects the constitutional rights of the indigent and other marginalized communities against government overreach. As a practicing trial attorney she maintains a constant courtroom presence before judges and juries while providing zealous advocacy to those accused of crimes.
This experience of representing clients from all walks of life offers her a fresh perspective that will contribute to professional diversity on the bench. Currently, there are no public defenders on the bench in Chester County. A public defender turned judge is more equipped to understand the unique needs of all litigants and render more informed decisions as a result. The legitimacy of the court process is strengthened when citizens appear before a judge who has represented people rather than corporate or state interests.
