Ashley Lewis is a mother, wife and lifelong educator who is known for being passionate about education, advocacy and elevating those who are limited in their resources. This is something she has instilled in her own children and shares with her husband, friends, family and collaborators.

She would like to take it a step further and share her passion in her community; Ashley has filed to run for a position on the NWACC (Northwest Arkansas Community College) Board of Trustees.  Ashley has been a resident of Rogers for more than three years, and has lived in Arkansas her entire life. Born in Fort Smith, she began pursuing a teaching degree at her local community college and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, Middle Level Education and eventually earned her Masters level certification in English Language Acquisition from Arkansas Tech University. She taught in the public school classroom for 13 years and was a mentor for 10 of those. Education on any level, about any subject is important to her and that is something that is carried on to her children as well. Her husband, Garrett, represented the State of Arkansas and Children's Advocacy Center of Benton County for years and together, have traveled speaking about childhood abuse and how to make changes in this state.

NWACC is an important staple of Northwest Arkansas that helps elevate community members and their families. Helping people make lifelong decisions that impact not only their own lives, but those around them is something Ashley doesn't take lightly. As a mentor and educator, she thrives on helping others make significant strides in their personal and professional lives.

With the opportunity to be the only woman with an education background on the board, the heart of an advocate as well as creative leadership as a full time creative, Ashley has a unique point of view to bring to the table and decision-making process.  “Anyone that knows me, knows I fight for those who don't have a voice, who don't have the resources and, who want to make a change," she says.

We hope you’ll join us in supporting and voting Ashley for NWACC on November 8th, 2022.
