Who are you and why are you running?

I'm a longtime Lakeville resident and LHS grad ('05). Since my early 20's I have felt called to civil service and have done so through the military reserve. I now feel it is time to serve more locally. The educators in Lakeville schools helped prepare me for success and I believe it's time for me to give something back to them and to the community that I've called home for more than 20 years.

I launched this campaign by myself and I am running free of outside influences. I am not affiliated with any political group. I support the interests of ISD 194 staff and I am actively seeking the endorsement of Education Minnesota-Lakeville (EML).

What is your message?

As a school board candidate, my message to the community is one of unity. I firmly believe that when we join forces as a community, we are capable of achieving incredible things for our schools and students. By fostering a sense of collaboration and inclusivity, we can create a supportive environment where every Lakeville student has the opportunity to be themselves, study hard, and realize their full potential.

If elected I pledge to serve all Lakeville residents. That means listening to all points of view and ensuring everyone is heard when it comes time to make the tough decisions. The essence of representative democracy is the willingness to compromise and find solutions that give everyone at the table something to celebrate.

My leadership philosophy focuses on building bridges and strengthening relationships between parents, teachers, students, and administrators. Let's focus on ensuring Lakeville teachers have what they need to provide a world class education for Lakeville students.

I will actively seek input from all stakeholders and ensure that their voices are heard in decision-making processes. By promoting open and transparent communication, we can build trust and create a sense of ownership among all members of our community.

I refuse to make promises I can't keep. I'm not a miracle worker. I won't tell you that I can single handedly fix the challenges our school district faces. But I can promise you one thing and that is I will be honest, open, and transparent with the residents and teachers of Lakeville. The first step to moving forward is open communication and that's what you'll get from me.

If you want a school board member who refuses to play games, calls it like it is, and will be open with you about what's going on in your schools - then vote Zachary Bohlman for Lakeville School Board this November.
