My INTERESTS;
Globally; Sustainable energy use, ecosystem collapse education, organic farmers support, human and animal vaccine injury education and laws, Health issues related to (GMO) Genetically Modified Organism foods and outsourcing processed food approved by the FDA, protection of the U.S. Constitution and right to rally. Local; mental health and rehabilitation volunteer programs, accountability of elder abuse in health care facilities, animal abuse laws and education, creating citizen awareness rallies, meetings and family events on key issues.
Many in Lewiston are in need of encouragement and self-empowerment through oppression. Folks want to have a new choice and find faith in someone who knows how difficult it can be during hardship living in this community. Those folks are putting their faith in me and I expect to keep their faith by inviting neighbors and friends to public meetings to air their grievances or offer their support to continue building person to person relationships with each other and municipalities.
*Campaign funds will be used; for creating fun family friendly public events, food or supplies, publishing tools and costs, travel and set up, as well as any staff willing to work the events.*
IF I am so chosen by my voters to take this position, I will do my very best to seek out the greater good for all involved.
Sincerely,
Kim Pfusch

POVERTY & DRUG ADDICTION in Maine, insight from local residents
I want to first address vandalism affecting our community and what some of the known sources and precursors are, reporting from the street;
VANDALISM
Vehicles are being broken into and or damaged as a result of attempted break-ins. Neighbors are complaining about barely being able to afford to "legally" keep their vehicle on the road, when the worst happens; You wake up one morning to find your window smashed out, door handle broken off and more for one example. Most people cannot afford full (comprehensive) insurance coverage. So, they take the full deficit and may not every get it repaired if so, they have to differ a bill or two for a month or two in order to allocate funds to the mechanic/garage or whomever is going to work on it.
ADDICTION ISSUES;
Some of the contributing factors in vandalism I have compassion and understanding for, but have found myself and my neighbors have run out patience after being impacted by hundreds of dollars worth of losses. There is serious concern about the drug addicted community. Homeless people... It's getting worse. And, the community is growing quickly. There is not enough people working to support the welfare. Enormous amount of people on welfare. Not enough jobs and the welfare system is maxed out. People who's parents and grandparents who built this town cannot find a place to live, a car to get to a job or bus fare or whatever, or even keep up on vehicle and or bicycle repairs. When people are desperate, they hurt others. One of the leading causes in property damage (vandalism) has to do with drug addiction.
In my recent experience, the majority of people are distraught over this seemingly never ending cycle. I and my neighbors are making a full effort to climb out of 'the pit' due to all of the collateral damage. And so, living here and witnessing the things that I do, I have a very accurate understanding of the effects of these issues, with no prejudice. Coming from a place of frustration but with compassion.
HOMELESSNESS;
we are seeing people currently occupying side walks, porches, unlocked cars, store parking lots and they are invisible to decision makers. House hold pets being forced outdoors and fending for themselves or die trying. We have a vast wildlife ecosystem here in town as well. We all affect each other! I feel for those who are suffering from addictions issues. I pray for recovery and blessings. But, I would like to empower you to not sit quietly and become a victim as a result of someone doing inappropriate things causing harm to others, breaking the law, when they are harming themselves.
HOW YOU CAN BE PART OF THE CHANGE;
Instead of lashing out at one another and using labels or race baiting or anything unethical like that, I would offer to inspire others to care about everyone like I do,as a neighbor should, despite the hardships they may cause you. How else will we change anything if we do not come from a place of empathy and compassion?
If you support change through education and interaction that encourages fellowship, please consider gathering and having further discussions with me and each other. Reach out to me any time using email provided.
Thank you,
Kim Pfusch
