Once upon a time I received a Ph.D. in philosophy from Michigan State University. I wrote my dissertation--Persons, Rights, and the Problem of Abortion--under the direction of Rhoda Kotzin. From 1976 until 2015, I taught at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. At last, though, I have become an independent scholar! Wage slave or not, my custom is to reflect on the words of G. K. Chesterton, "Angels fly because they take themselves lightly."

California Catholic Daily

California Catholic Daily correspondent Mary Rose Short interviews Dr. James G. Hanink.

"I think that the American Solidarity Party has a great deal to offer the people of California and I want to make that known to as many people as possible. The party is neither right, nor left. We are a party that’s committed to a consistent ethics of life. We’re a party that’s committed to the common good as understood in Catholic social teaching."
