I am a person trying to change the world from the ground up, being an active participant in the call to action that we need right now.
At the Michael Barden for Maine campaign we strive to raise awareness in non-violent ways. It is important that we learn from People like Martin Luther King And Mahatma Gandhi who lead powerful non-violent movements or change.
Thriving - Mainers ability to thrive or not thrive is a huge concern for me. Because, as a blue collar worker I know full well the need for Mainers ability to thrive. We have all witnessed much economic hardship, that has in some cases, been irreversible. Mainers from all walks of life, religion, race, gender, social economic status that have been experienced the devastating impacts that these excessive shut downs have caused. I vow to work towards empowering Mainers to have faith that they will get there through awareness and education and direct support whenever possible.
Health care – We have Mainers who pay through their teeth for their health insurance, which can be very difficult to stay on top of. We also have Mainers who cannot afford health insurance. Maine care or Medicare may or may not cover all of their expenses. I support universal health care.
Climate
injustice - I believe that it's crucial that we as a nation as a
whole, need to cut back fossil fuels. It's well worth
our time & effort to consider embracing wind, hydro & solar
power. It's much less damaging to our environment and helps make our
beautiful planet a healthier place for all.
Having sustainability with a focus on economic justice is an important concern. As I have said before "I want to see a higher quality of life for all Mainers, and I want to save the environment for future generations." My main goals as Governor Will be to save our environment by moving away from Fossil Fuels, We can raise the quality of life for all Mainers from the bottom up.

Michael Barden III, A little about me
I am thirty-six years old. I am a partner, home-owner, farmer and father. I was born in Maine, into a poor working class household with four biological siblings. I moved around during my childhood, but returned to Maine in my mid teens. I attended college. Unfortunately it was not affordable for me to be able to work, go to school and maintain well enough to survive. I've even experienced homelessness for a short time. I am thankful that, with the help of my father, I was able to pull myself through it!
I have spent my adult years working as a cook in various kitchens. I recall when several years back, I began to really pay attention to politics and science. I began to recognize the problems that our failing system had. I watched in disgusts as our so called leaders failed to act on them. This motivated me to begin to take action. One of the first things that I did was getting involved in my local town offices and the Saco River Corridor Commission. I stepped it up a notch and moved forward running for state representative seat (House of Legislators). It concerns me that the threats facing society have become even more dire. For that reason, I have decided to seriously challenge the status quo. I want to see the state of Maine change into a far more fair and just government. I look forward to serving Maine. As Maine's Top Choice For Governor
Hello,
I am Michael Barden III I want to share with you that I am a person trying to change the world from the ground up, being an active participant in the call to action that we need right now.
My main goals as Governor Will be to save our environment by moving away from Fossil Fuels, We can raise the quality of life for all Mainers from the bottom up. It is important that we learn from the mistakes of our past, and move forward with progressive positive change.
I am committed to supporting my constituents through credible research and call to action steps necessary to enable all Mainer's the ability to live and thrive here Mainer's are asking for a new choice That's why I believe that the only choice for governor this coming November is myself.
