Brian Trowbridge, a local Deputy Sheriff, has declared his candidacy for Eau Claire City Council Alderperson At-large.

Working in public service for the entirety of his adult career has given Trowbridge many opportunities to meet, and work with people from all walks of life. He hopes to bring that perspective and experience to the Eau Claire City Council, and help to move forward efforts to better Eau Claire for all of its residents.

He has been able to give back to the community as well through several years of service as a board member for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley, and Eau Claire American Baseball based at Fairfax Park.

Trowbridge has been a Chippewa Valley resident for all but eight years of his life, living in the City of Eau Claire for twelve of the last fifteen years with his two teenage sons. He is currently the Detective Sergeant with the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office, supervising the agency’s investigative team. Prior to coming to Eau Claire County in 2012 Trowbridge worked for the South Dakota Department of Corrections, Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, and Prescott, WI Police Department.

During his career Trowbridge has accumulated extensive experience working with the Drug Endangered Children Initiative, Child Advocacy Center Multi-Disciplinary Team, and several teams at the County level that focus on identifying issues surrounding child deaths, overdose deaths, and suicide deaths in our community in hopes of reducing those numbers.

Trowbridge grew up in and around Eleva, graduating from Eleva-Strum Central High School, then attended Kilian Community College in Sioux Falls, SD, and UW-Whitewater receiving degrees in Human Services/Criminal Justice, and Political Science/Public Administration.
