I am a daughter of Korean American immigrants who was born and raised in Los Angeles. As a people's attorney, I've represented workers, immigrants, renters, and people exercising their Constitutional rights. I'm a former labor union attorney and currently handle civil rights matters. I'm running to be Judge of the Superior Court in Office Number 118 because everyone in the justice system deserves fairness in the courtroom regardless of skin color, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, immigration status, disability or wealth.
Corporate lawyers and prosecutors have been overrepresented on the bench for decades. It's time to diversify the bench in many respects. That's why I'm running on a slate with three public defenders who are women.
In addition to being an attorney, I'm also very engaged in my community. As a Silver Lake Neighborhood Council Governing Board Member, I helped establish a compost drop-off site at the local farmers market, volunteer for food distribution efforts, and advocate for holistic solutions to issues in the community.
I'm running a grassroots campaign that aims to send the message that judge elections matter. Judges make decisions that change lives, families and communities, yet even the most engaged voters have a hard time knowing which judicial candidates to vote for or finding out any information about the candidates. Your donations will be used to get out the vote in this election through campaign materials, advertisement, canvassing expenses, and more.
