Lydia Glaize, wife, mother, grandmother community leader, former educator, and former local legislator running to represent Georgia's 67th House District because I care.
When my husband, of 37 years, and I moved to South Fulton, I became involved immediately in the schools by serving on PTA, Local School Advisory Board, Faith and Community non-profits providing outreach to those who needed a hand-up. I mentored those who wanted to improve their lives and spoke up on behalf of those who have been overlooked, left out, and looked down upon. My record of helping hundreds of young people follow their dreams or develop their life plans in South Fulton, Coweta, and Fayette over the span of 30 years is a continuum of my care for those who mattered: i.e. family, community, region. I want to continue serving because your family, your community, and this District matter!
As a former elected official of the City of Fairburn, I understand smart sustainable solutions are key to transforming people’s lives and responding to the needs of the communities I serve. In response to the Fairburn community raising its voice and concerns on voter access, I led the initiative to expand voting precincts from one to three which provided unencumbered access for Fairburn voters. I also worked with community leaders to partner with Atlanta Habitat 4 Humanity to serve Veterans and Seniors in their Repair Up Program and increase homeownership for younger families in Fairburn. I am running to expand Better Educational, Economic, and Environmental Outcomes.
I will work to expand workforce development opportunities for our district as I did when I was asked to step down from the Board and help revamp the College Career and Scholarship Program at Landmark Christian School, Fairburn, GA. In year one, I increased Career Pathways, College Acceptances, and Scholarship offerings from $1M+ to $10M+ with fewer graduates. Every student received my focused results-oriented college and career guidance and the legislative work I will put forth will aim to support every Georgia student with a tailored pathway to access our current options while sharing innovative entrepreneurial, military, and Apprenticeship programs.
As your state representative, I will show up to the Elected Office District Office 67 with Hope, Resources, and Smart Solutions. I humbly ask for your vote and support. Together, we will become a vehicle for continued progress in Georgia's 67th House District
