Senate District 26 includes beautiful Mt. Hood, important agricultural lands, and many homes in the urban-wildland interface, at extreme risk from wildfire. Moving into our green energy future is both urgent and possible here.
I am a teacher who has taught STEM, social studies, English language arts, and career/technical courses; a climate change education leader; and a trauma-informed hospital chaplain who has worked especially with veterans. For many years I worked in the domestic abuse field. We must allow people reproductive choices about their bodies. The stakes are high. We must defend our country's founding principles against religious extremism.
This is one of two toss-up Oregon Senate races. My background prepares me to lead now. I'm a strong advocate for economic justice, healthcare access, affordable housing, equity, wise climate action, and defending reproductive rights. Because I grew up in rural Eastern Oregon, I do this in a way that builds bridges and respects the dignity of those I seek to represent across Senate District 26. In addition to representing the Democratic Party, I am proudly nominated by the Independent Party of Oregon.
Your contribution supports handwritten postcards to rural voters (almost 10,000 sent out so far, by 90 volunteers and counting). Postage for our many volunteer writers is approx. $1,000/month.
Besides phone banking and, of course, canvassing, we use savvy digital and audio marketing to share our message of hope and positive action. Your contribution allows us to communicate how winnable this race is, and get out the Democratic, Independent, and even moderate Republican vote.
We run a lean and effective campaign with an important rural Democratic message. Please join us!
