I'm Amy Roser and I'm running for re-election to the Unit 5 School Board. The election is April 4th, 2023.
I moved to Bloomington-Normal in 1991 when I enrolled at Illinois State University. I was introduced to my husband on a blind date and we have made Bloomington-Normal our home. We have two daughters who have attended Unit 5 schools throughout their educational. Professionally, my career has been dedicated to public education as I have worked for 27 years at Illinois State University and dedicated my career to supporting students in their educational pursuits.
In June 2018, I was appointed to the Unit 5 school board and then was elected for a full term in April 2019. While on the board I have served as board Vice President for one year and as board President for two years during a global pandemic. I have demonstrated leadership during difficult times, worked to build relationships and advocated for the district. I am committed to education and to ensuring students in Unit 5 have access to a quality education in an environment that supports their personal growth and development. Quality schools are the hallmark of a strong community.
