Occupation: Healthcare Innovation Specialist at Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries

Occupational Background: Public Health Health Education

Prior Governmental Experience: Multnomah Education Service District (MESD) Board of Directors Vice-Chair (incoming Chair post-election), Oregon School Board Association (OSBA)  Director (year 3), OSBA LGBTQIA2S+ advisory committee leader.

I have spent the last fifteen years focused on clinical care, patient advocacy, public health, emergency response and health education, reducing barriers to healthcare on the West Coast.

The last two years I have driven around rural Oregon providing mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinics and offer emergency response to our communities.

I am running for re-election to the Multnomah Education Service District Board to put students first and ensure that ALL children have access to the quality education they deserve.

Expanding opportunity for students

I understand that services like post-high school programs are essential to students’ economic future. I will fight to expand career and technical education, college readiness programs and increase dropout prevention services.

"Katrina is an outstanding voice for equity and has a clear vision of what we need to provide to our children to help them succeed!" - Eilidh Lowery (she/her), PPS School Board

School Health Service

I believe that all of our students deserve access to quality and comprehensive health services and sex ed.

Standing up for vulnerable students

I will put vulnerable students and targeted populations first. I wants to ensure that students needing special education services and those involved in the juvenile systems receive safe and trauma informed education.

Help me reach my printing deadline goal

Hi Friend,

It's Katrina. As you likely now know, I am running for re-election to the Multnomah County Education Service District (MESD) Board. I want to keep engaging in this vital work to put our students first, and I need your support to win in May.

Here’s how you can help. I’ve set a goal to raise $2,000 from grassroots donors in the next two weeks, so I can meet my printing deadline for my campaign materials. Could you chip in $25, $50, or $100 today to help me reach my goal?

In addition to my role as MESD Vice Chair, I am also a director for OSBA, the statewide school board. I recently introduced a proposal to create a much-needed LGBTQIA2S+ advisory committee, and over the next year, I will lead our OSBA directors in developing it. This committee is an example of the direct advocacy our students, staff, families and communities need.

Throughout my 15+ year career in public health and healthcare services, I have always advocated for the well-being of my patients and our community. For the last two years, I have driven around rural Oregon providing mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinics and emergency response services. I have worked on campaigns for vital measures like the Reproductive Health Equity Act, Universal Preschool for ALL, Paid Family and Medical Leave, Drivers’ Licenses for ALL, and Eviction Representation for ALL.

Your contribution will enable my message to reach voters, provide community education on MESD and the essential work we do, and ensure my win on May 16 so I can continue my community-focused leadership at MESD and OSBA.

Together, we can put students first and make sure that ALL children have access to the quality education they deserve.

Thank you for your support!
