Dear Friends, Family, and Valued Supporters,
As we approach a pivotal moment in our district's journey, let's take a moment to reflect on the transformative path we've undertaken together. . The previous election cycle surfaced critical dialogues surrounding economic stability, health care accessibility, and quality education—issues that deeply permeate our daily lives. Your faith in my abilities to address these challenges propelled me into office.
We've made remarkable strides together. When I sought your vote in 2022, my campaign was anchored in Y.E.S.: Youth, Education, Economy, Environmental, and Seniors. Today, I am proud to affirm that those were not just campaign promises, but commitments that have now been translated into tangible achievements. As the only Democratic House Representative serving on both the Education (K-12) and Higher Education Committees, I've been instrumental in championing progressive educational initiatives within our state and district.
I've sponsored and co-sponsored 51 bills, with 32 passed successfully and 3 signed into law by our Governor in just one year. These legislative milestones have offered vital support for K-12 Education Literacy, Higher Education funding and training (including HOPE restored to 100%), senior tax abatements automatic renewals, teacher raises, and expanded mental healthcare.
My peers in the Fulton County Delegation elected me Chair of the Education Committee, a privilege I hold dear. Additionally, I've been appointed as the Education Chair by the Chairman of the GA Legislative Black Caucus, enabling me to spearhead several education initiatives within District 67 this past summer and leading in the Fall. To name a few:
Launched the Summer Reading Rewards Program in collaboration with Fulton County Schools, Palmetto Elementary School, and Liberty Point Elementary School. Together, they clinched first and second place for the highest number of books read countywide.
Completed a listening tour of all 5 Coweta Schools with Superintendent Evan Horton and Coweta Board of Education Chairman Andrew Copeland.
Facilitated and equipped Thomas Elementary School's Fall planting by leading the event and providing all the necessary tools, supplies, and plants.
Supported the Academic Enrollment of several seniors to over 21 colleges/universities and the Air Force Academy.
Attended the Newly Formed General Assembly “Council on Literacy” to advocate for the funding of K-12 Literacy Coaches for every Georgia Elementary School.
1 of 3 Georgia State Officials invited to the White House States’ Convening on Child Care.
However, our work is far from over. We've laid a robust foundation, but there's an abundance of potential yet to be unlocked. My dedication to serving you as your House Representative for District 67 remains unyielding.
To fulfill this vision, I need your continued support. As I embark on my re-election campaign, I humbly request your financial contribution. Your generosity will not only fuel our campaign but also reaffirm our shared commitment to shaping a brighter future for our district and state.
Let's continue the work we've begun, empowered by our past accomplishments and guided by our collective aspirations. Together, we can field the future we desire for our district and state.
