Kati Moulton for Eureka

When my husband and I bought our first and only home near Highland Park, we had to ask ourselves, “Is this a good neighborhood where we can raise our son?” The answer is yes and no. It was a big decision for us, since we’d been saving for years, and we were only going to get one shot at buying our own home.

In the 2nd Ward there are hardworking people, struggling families, inspiring networks of support, and heartbreaking stories of what can happen when those support networks break down and desperation takes hold. 

As the Second Ward’s representative on the Eureka City Council, I work to help bring out the best in our community with compassion, creative solutions, and open communication.

I am a community leader, mentor, Kinetic sculpture racer (Kati Texas), Rutabaga Queen (Lotta Paintbuckets), a small business person, mother, and home owner. My family and I have deep roots here, and we want to see Eureka thrive!
