I am running for Hawaii State House, District 46, because my family, my students, and my community need people to rise in response to this moment. Policy makers and legislators need to create the conditions for civil discourse and wise decision-making, and I want to contribute to that effort.
I want to help build community power in our neighborhoods. I want to help reconnect citizens to the core institutions of local government so that these institutions better serve the interests of our local families. We need to develop sustainable community-based economic policies, strengthen public education and support for our keiki, and make quality health care and affordable housing available to all.
I am running for office because my experiences have taught me the power of compassion, curiosity and the importance of seeking the public good. I think these qualities will be important to address our challenges and I want to use what I’ve learned to fulfill my responsibilities to others.
