End Private Prisons in Florida

GEO Group is one of the largest private prison companies in the world and is headquartered right here Boca Raton, FL. 

They have spent over $9 million in campaign donations in a 18-year span. This money has been spent all over the United States but especially in Florida. This money is spent to influence elected officials to make sure private prisons exists so they can profit off of it. And these are just direct donations, this doesn't account for the many other millions that are spent on lobbying. 

Florida is notorious for private prisons and mass incarceration and GEO Group is responsible for that- they manage both prisons and detention facilities. Caging men, women, and children has become a business. It is increasingly leading to increased policing, laws, and policies that make it easier to incarcerate- especially in low-income neighborhoods and neighborhoods of color. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
